The Winter ICGFM Conference to be held between December 1 and 3 in Washington DC will focus on what really works. The conference theme is "Country Perspectives on Advancing Public Financial Management Reform—What Really Works”
Don’t miss the opportunity to join government leaders, public financial management experts, and program managers at the International Consortium on Governmental Financial Management (ICGFM) winter conference.
The conference will focus on the actual experiences of countries engaged in public financial management (PFM) reform to identify what is really needed and the practical steps to achieve sustainable performance results and will be of immediate or broad value to country leaders and officials involved in PFM, whether senior policy makers, those directly responsible for reform implementation or those affected. Representatives from Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Caribbean, and North America will share their experiences in getting the basics in place and identifying the most important PFM improvements to undertake and, more importantly, the steps necessary to move from problem to solution.
Key themes of this conference include:
- Getting the basics in place for PFM reform—what countries need
- Moving from fragmented or large and complex reforms to a sustainable,
- incremental reform program
- The PEFA Performance Measurement Framework
- Sequencing of PFM reforms
- The key steps to advance PFM beyond discussion to implementation
- Positive roles that donors can play through coordination and support
- What has and has not worked in advancing PFM reforms
